Language Requirements
If your first language is not English, or if you have completed less than 4 years of study in English at the secondary (or postsecondary) level, then you are required to submit proof of English proficiency.
If you are required to provide proof of English proficiency, one of the following tests with scores will be accepted.
You will receive an email with detailed instructions (after you apply) if you are required to demonstrate English proficiency as part of your application.

| Minimum IELTS Score | 6.5 with no band less than 6 |
| Minimum CAEL Score | 70 on Language Assessment |
| PTE (Pearson Test of English) | Minimum overall score of 60 with no score less than 60 in the individual components. |
| Other Test Scores | Cambridge English: C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency. Minimum overall score of 176 with no band less than 169. Duolingo: 110 (subscores may be considered) Successful completion of the University of Guelph, Open Learning Advanced Level of the English Language Certificate Program (Levels 9 and 10) is also considered an acceptable form of proving your English proficiency. Test results must be less than 2 years prior to the date of your application.
