Types de chambre

Students entering their first year will be placed in one of the following first-year communities. Many of the first-year students reside in our traditional-style residence or townhomes, and others live in apartment-style residence. Our first-year communities are placed based on a ranked preference. However, your room style is not guaranteed.

Commodités

Residence provides you with a furnished bedroom, semi-private bathroom, common lounge space, wireless internet service and $100 pre-paid laundry card.

Our first-year communities:

  • are equipped with high-speed internet service,
  • have controlled entry for security and
  • are smoke-free.

Some residence areas offer different amenities. View the amenities at each residence area.

To support your transition, your Residence Education Facilitator (REF) and Don live nearby to help answer questions and lead seminars, social events and study sessions. Our first-year communities make it easy to walk to class, review notes and study for exams with your neighbours and roommates!

We offer 8 Living Learning Communities where students live with other students who share similar interests and area of study and are enrolled in at least 1 course together. Learn more about LLCS here.

Garantie de résidence

Residence is guaranteed for all new full-time students entering their first year of university in an undergraduate program for the first time, provided they meet the conditions of our First Year Residence Guarantees.

$4,400 - $5,150

Meal plans are required for students living in residence. First-year undergraduate students are limited to selecting from the Plus and Full meal plan options only. Upper-year undergraduate residents may select all of the options listed on our Meal Plans page.

Acceptance Fee

Once offers have been made, there is a $1,650 acceptance fee. Once the housing application and application fee has been received, UTM Student Housing & Residence Life will send housing confirmations to eligible applicants to the email address registered with ACORN. The acceptance fee of $1,650 is applied toward the total cost of living in residence.

Residence Orientation

Residence Orientation is your chance to get to know your new home, neighbours and residence community, including the Residence Student Staff who are here to support you throughout the year. Learn what it means to be a successful residence student, meet new people and, most importantly, have fun! The friends you make during this first week on residence may last you the year, for your entire stay at UTM or even a lifetime.
